Central Playa Blanca boasts a lively evening atmosphere with a variety of bars and restaurants on offer from typical Spanish bars to Karaoke bars. Excursions and Places of interest

Cruises

Why not jump on a ferry from the resorts harbour and take a 30 minute journey over to Corralejo in Fuerteventura. The popular Parque Natural de Las Dunas is worth visiting with its sand dunes measuring 10 miles long and 3 miles wide. There are a number of ferry companies to choose from including Fred Olsen that run frequently throughout the day.

Natural areas of beauty

The stunning Papagayo Beaches are located on the outskirts of the resort, along the coast to the east. A drive along a dirt track road, with a small entrance fee, brings you to a collection of picturesque beaches with golden sand and crystal clear waters offering peaceful and secluded surroundings. These beaches are perfect if you're looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the main resort beaches.

El Golfo is a small seaside village located west of the town Yaiza and on the coast. The village is famous for its Charco de Los Clicos, or green lagoon, and the location is also featured in the film Broken Embraces starring Penelope Cruz. Fantastic fresh fish lunches can also be enjoyed here while taking in the sea views.

Water Parks

If waterparks on holiday is a must, Playa Blanca has a fantastic waterpark situated in the heart of the resort, Aqualava. The park features a spectacular water castle, wave pool, the Timanfire water slides and the Magma River lazy river.

National parks

The Timanfaya National Park is a must see when holidaying on the island. Declared a national park back in 1968, this site was once host to more than 100 volcanoes. The restaurant in the park serves traditional Canarian food that’s cooked using a cast-iron grill placed over a large hole in the ground. There is also the option to take a camel ride across the volcanic landscape.

Other Places of interest

Marina Rubicon is a modern harbour situated on the east side of the resort. The harbour is well worth a visit with its many restaurants and shops on offer. There are restaurants specialising in tapas, grill, fresh fish, Italian, Mediterranean and cafes. There are also a handful of gift and clothing shops to explore. The harbours most popular event is the street market held every Wednesday and Saturday between 9am and 2pm, selling items such as jewellery, clothes, gifts and crafts.

Other:

Vineyards, The old town, Churches / Cathedrals
